Wildcard strategy
When to play your FPL wildcard
Play it one gameweek before a swing, not after. If a club's fixtures turn from difficult to easy at Gameweek 5, you want their players in your squad for the whole of that good run, not from halfway through it.
A wildcard is also the cheapest way to fix a squad with several problems at once. If you need three or more transfers to sort out injuries and dead weight, taking two point hits usually costs more than the wildcard would.
Do not spend it on one player. If a single transfer solves your team, save the wildcard for a swing like the ones above.
